Antibacterial curtain fabric built for private clinics, dental practices, and aesthetic centres. Washable, track-compatible, and stocked in our PJ warehouse for fast turnaround.
Private clinics don't need the same spec as government hospitals. That's the truth most fabric suppliers won't tell you — because they'd rather sell you the expensive stuff. A GP clinic in Bangsar South or a dental practice in Damansara Utama doesn't face the same contamination risks as a ward in Hospital Sungai Buloh. You need antibacterial properties, yes. But you don't need to pay RM25 per metre for Class 1 medical textile when a properly treated 180gsm polyester at RM10-14 per metre will do the job.
At Artwork Fabrics, we stock clinic curtain fabric specifically for this middle ground. Clean, hygienic, professional-looking. But priced for private practice budgets.
Our clinic range covers three tiers:
All three tiers are machine washable at 60°C. The antibacterial treatment lasts roughly 48-55 wash cycles before it needs retreatment. And before you ask — yes, the treatment is safe for skin-contact environments. It's silver-ion based, not chemical biocide.
Fabric weight matters more than most clinic owners realise. Too light and the curtain looks cheap, doesn't hang properly, and lets silhouettes show through. Too heavy and you're fighting your cubicle track hardware — the rollers wear out faster, the curtain bunches when pulled, and your staff gets annoyed.
For most medical clinic curtain applications, 180-220gsm hits the sweet spot. It drapes well. It's opaque enough for patient privacy during examinations. And it moves smoothly on both I-beam tracks and flex tracks. We've supplied curtain fabric to over 37 clinics across the Klang Valley last year — everything from a small TCM practice in Kepong to a multi-storey specialist centre in Subang Jaya — and this weight range works for almost everyone.
The exception is dental. Dental clinic curtain fabric needs to be tighter-woven because of water spray and suction aerosol. Our 240gsm tight-weave option has a water repellency rating that standard clinic fabric doesn't match. It costs a few ringgit more per metre but saves you from premature replacement.
Consultation rooms are where most clinics get the fabric choice wrong. The doctor wants something that "looks nice." The interior designer picks a decorative cotton blend. Six months later, the fabric smells musty, the colours have faded from cleaning chemicals, and the clinic manager is shopping for replacements.
Cotton is not your friend in a clinic. Full stop.
Polyester blends with antibacterial treatment give you the professional look without the maintenance headache. We carry 47 colourways in our clinic range — not just the boring whites and blues. Warm greys, sage greens, soft terracotta tones. Colours that make a consultation room feel welcoming rather than clinical. Your patients are already anxious about their appointment. The last thing they need is a space that reminds them of a hospital ward.
And for those who want a more textured, natural look — our linen curtain fabric range includes a polyester-linen blend that looks like pure linen but takes antibacterial treatment well. Aesthetic clinics in Mont Kiara and Publika have been ordering this blend specifically because it photographs well for their social media. RM13-17 per metre in 118-inch width.
One thing contractors overlook: not every curtain fabric works with cubicle track systems. Standard curtain fabric has a soft header that takes curtain hooks or eyelets. Cubicle curtain fabric needs a reinforced mesh-top header with grommets spaced at specific intervals — usually 6 inches apart — to fit the track's snap hooks or roller carriers.
If your clinic uses ceiling-mounted cubicle tracks (the kind you see in hospital wards and physiotherapy centres), ask for our track-compatible range. We can supply the fabric with the header already sewn and grommeted. Ready to hang. No need to send it to a tukang jahit first. Most orders with pre-made headers ship within 5-7 working days.
For clinics using regular curtain rods or simple ceiling-mounted rails — any fabric from our range works. Just tell us your track type when you order samples and we'll advise on header style.
Consultation room curtains need to block line-of-sight without killing the natural light. This is where our semi-opaque weaves come in. They transmit about 15-20% of ambient light while being completely opaque for privacy — no silhouettes visible even with direct overhead lighting behind the curtain.
If you need total blackout — say for a dermatology or aesthetic laser room — check our blackout curtain fabric instead. But for general consultation and examination rooms, semi-opaque is the right call. Patients don't want to feel like they're in a sealed box.
Practical advantages that matter for healthcare spaces.
Antimicrobial treatment effective against common bacteria for up to 50 wash cycles. Safe for skin-contact environments — no harsh chemical residue.
Industrial laundry compatible. Remove, wash, re-hang the same day. Fabric retains shape and colour through repeated wash cycles without shrinkage beyond 1.5%.
Pre-grommeted header option fits standard hospital and clinic cubicle track systems. No extra sewing needed — fabric arrives ready to clip and hang.
Beyond clinical white and blue. Warm neutrals, muted greens, and soft pastels that suit modern private practice interiors. Sample swatches posted free within Peninsular Malaysia.
Available in 54", 110", and 118" widths. Wider fabric means fewer seam lines on your cubicle partitions — cleaner look, faster installation for your contractor.
Tight-weave 240gsm option with water repellency treatment. Designed for dental operatories, minor procedure rooms, and any space with liquid exposure risk.
If you're a contractor fitting out a new clinic, you already know the timeline pressure. The medical equipment supplier is late, the BOMBA inspection is pending, and the landlord wants you out of the renovation period yesterday. Curtain fabric shouldn't be the thing holding up your handover.
We keep roughly 23 of our most popular clinic colours in ready stock at our Taman Desaria warehouse. Walk in, pick your rolls, load your van. Or call ahead and we'll have it cut and packed for collection. For Klang Valley deliveries, our own lorry runs three times a week — Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Outstation orders go by courier. Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, Kota Kinabalu — we ship everywhere. Standard delivery is 4-7 working days. But be warned: during the festive season rush (especially CNY and before Hari Raya), courier services slow to a crawl. If your clinic is opening in February or early April, order your fabric by the end of the previous month to be safe.
For fit-out contractors handling multiple clinics — chain dental groups like those expanding into Klang Valley suburbs, or aesthetic clinic franchises opening new branches — we offer project pricing. Commit to 200 metres or more across your projects and the rate drops meaningfully below our standard wholesale tier.
We also work with office curtain fabric projects where a medical office or polyclinic shares a floor with regular office suites. Mixed orders across our ranges are fine — you still get volume pricing on the total meterage.
Most suppliers won't tell you this, but the biggest cost saving on clinic curtains isn't in the fabric price per metre. It's in choosing the right width. A 320cm-wide fabric means one piece covers a full cubicle partition without vertical seams. That saves your tukang jahit 30-40 minutes per curtain panel in sewing time. On a 12-cubicle clinic, that's almost a full day of labour saved. At RM150-200 per day for a seamstress, the wider fabric pays for itself even if it costs RM3-4 more per metre.
Think total installed cost. Not just fabric cost.
Interior designers working on clinic projects can request our healthcare sample book. It contains swatches of all 47 colours in our clinic range, with fabric specs printed on each card — weight, width, wash instructions, and antibacterial certification details. Handy when you're presenting options to the clinic owner.
For architects specifying fabric in their clinic design drawings, we provide full technical datasheets in PDF. Fire rating (BS 5867 Part 2 Type B), colour fastness to light (Grade 5-6 on the blue wool scale), pilling resistance (Martindale 30,000+ cycles), and dimensional stability after washing. Whatever your QS needs for the tender document.
Drop by our showroom on Jalan Klang Lama to browse in person, or WhatsApp us for a sample book by post. We're about 8 minutes from the Federal Highway exit near Batu 8 — look for Taman Desaria on your left. Parking right in front.
