Shrinkage — plan for it
Pure linen curtain fabric shrinks. Typically 3% to 5% on the first wash, sometimes more if the fabric was not pre-washed at the mill. Experienced curtain makers in Malaysia already account for this — they add 8cm to 12cm per drop length as shrinkage allowance. But if your workshop is used to working with polyester (which barely shrinks at all), this is a conversation worth having before the fabric gets cut.

Creasing — it's the point, not a problem
Linen wrinkles. Full stop. But the current market trend actively wants that relaxed, slightly rumpled look. Scandinavian, japandi, rustic modern — all these styles treat linen creases as texture, not defects.

UV exposure and fading
This needs to be said plainly. Linen fades in direct sunlight more than synthetic fabrics.
