Custom weave development

This is the full OEM route. You tell us the weave construction — plain, twill, satin, jacquard, dobby — and we develop it from the yarn stage. Typical specs we work with: 240gsm to 380gsm weight range, 280cm to 300cm finished width, polyester or poly-linen blends. The mill produces a handloom sample first, then a production strike-off for your sign-off before bulk runs. Lead time for development is 3 to 4 weeks for the strike-off alone. But once your weave is on file, reorders move much faster.

Custom weave makes sense when you want a fabric that literally does not exist in anyone else's sample book. A linen-look curtain fabric with a specific drape weight, or a velvet with a particular pile height that photographs well for your catalogue. The minimum commitment is usually 1,000 to 2,000 metres per design, split across your chosen colourways.

Custom colourway dyeing

Lower barrier to entry than full custom weave. You pick an existing weave construction from our base fabric library — we have roughly 47 base constructions across blackout, dimout, sheer, and drapery categories — and dye it to your Pantone references. MOQ drops to about 500 metres per colourway. Lab dip turnaround is 7 to 12 working days, and bulk production runs 35 to 50 days after approval.

This is how most Malaysian curtain brands start their OEM journey. Pick a proven base. Get your signature colours. Brand it. Test the market. Then graduate to full custom weave once volumes justify the investment.

Custom printing

Digital printing on curtain fabric has changed the game for small to mid-volume OEM runs. We can print your proprietary patterns — florals, geometrics, damask motifs, whatever your designer produces — onto sheer, dimout, or drapery base fabrics. Resolution goes up to 1440 dpi. Colour fastness holds at Grade 4 or better on the grey scale after washing. MOQ for digital print starts around 50 metres per design, which is tiny compared to rotary screen printing. And there is no screen charge.

Rotary screen printing is still available for higher volumes. If you are doing 3,000 metres or more per colourway, the per-metre cost drops significantly below digital. But the screen charges run RM1,200 to RM3,500 per colour separation, so the maths only works at scale.

Private labelling and packaging

White label curtain material is only truly yours once the branding is on it. We handle selvage printing with your company name and logo, branded header cards for sample hangers, bolt wrapping with your brand identity, and custom sample books laid out with your design numbering system. Some brands want barcoded stickers on every bolt. Others want QR codes linking to their own website. We accommodate all of it.

And here is something a lot of first-time OEM buyers miss: budget for sample books. Your tukang jahit and your retail partners sell from the sample book, not from the bolt. A well-made sample book with clear fabric codes, suggested applications, and care instructions is worth more than any amount of advertising. We produce these as part of the OEM package.

Step 1 — Brief and feasibility

Tell us what you want. Weave type, target weight (in gsm), finished width, fibre composition, and how many colourways. If you have a reference swatch from a competitor or a hotel project you want to match, even better. We assess feasibility and come back with a realistic production quote within 3 working days. Walk-in to our Jalan Klang Lama office if you prefer face-to-face — bring your swatches.

Step 2 — Sampling

For custom weave: handloom strike-off takes 3 to 4 weeks. For custom dyeing: lab dip takes 7 to 12 working days. For digital print: proof print within 5 working days. You approve or request adjustments. Most orders go through 1 to 2 rounds of revisions before bulk approval. There is no charge for the first round of lab dips. Second round onwards, nominal charges apply — RM50 to RM150 depending on complexity.

Step 3 — Bulk production

Once you sign off on samples, production begins. Standard timeline is 45 to 90 days depending on fabric type, volume, and mill loading. We send progress updates with photos at key stages: yarn preparation, on-loom, finishing, and inspection. Stock runs low before Hari Raya and Chinese New Year — plan accordingly. If your launch depends on a specific date, tell us early and we will lock in the production slot.

Step 4 — Quality inspection and shipping

Before shipping, our QC team inspects the entire production run. Every bolt gets checked for fabric weight, width (must be within +/- 1cm of spec), colour consistency against the approved lab dip, and visual defects. Colour fastness is tested per batch: minimum Grade 4 on the grey scale for light fastness, Grade 3-4 for wash fastness. Martindale abrasion testing applies to heavier drapery fabrics — typically 15,000 to 20,000 cycles for residential grade. We can arrange third-party inspection through SGS or Bureau Veritas if your brand policy requires it.

Shipping from port to Port Klang is 14 to 21 days by sea. Container delays from Ningbo and Shanghai are real — we factor in buffer time and advise you honestly on expected arrival dates. No false promises on shipping ETAs.
