Plain Solid Colour Curtain Fabric
Wholesale plain curtain fabric in roughly 287 solid colours. Polyester, cotton blends, and linen-look bases with consistent dye lots for developer projects, hotels, and curtain makers across Malaysia. Ready stock from our PJ warehouse.
Why plain curtain fabric still outsells prints
Solid colours account for over 60% of curtain fabric sold through our PJ warehouse. Developers want uniformity. Curtain makers want flexibility. Plain delivers both.
Plain solid colour curtain fabric is the backbone of every curtain business in Malaysia. It does not matter if you are a tukang jahit running a small kedai kain in Klang or a large-scale curtain contractor fitting out 1,200 units in Bukit Jalil. You need reliable plain fabric.
We stock roughly 287 colours across three fabric bases. That is not a rounded-up marketing number. We counted them last quarter when updating our sample books, and the actual figure shifts month to month as new shipments arrive and discontinued shades sell through. But the range sits comfortably above 280 at any given time.
The three bases matter more than the colour count, honestly. 100% polyester is the workhorse — wrinkle-resistant, easy to maintain, priced between RM8 and RM13 per metre depending on weight. Cotton-polyester blend gives you a softer hand feel with better drape, popular for residential master bedrooms and living areas where the customer wants fabric that feels premium. And then there is linen-look polyester, which gives the textured, natural appearance of real linen without the creasing and shrinkage problems that make actual linen a headache for curtain makers.
Dye-lot consistency — the thing nobody talks about
Most suppliers won't tell you this, but dye-lot variation is the single biggest cause of rejected curtain fabric in developer projects. You order 800 metres of ivory for a condo in Mont Kiara, and when the rolls arrive from two different production batches, the colour is off by just enough to notice once it is hung side by side.
We batch every project order from the same dye lot. For orders above 200 metres of one colour, our warehouse team checks lot numbers before cutting. If a colour cannot be fulfilled from a single lot, we tell you before shipping — not after. This is not a premium service. It is how we operate as standard, because our customers are curtain makers who cannot afford to re-order and re-sew 47 sets of curtains because the off-white from Roll 3 does not match Roll 1.
What fabric widths are available
Standard width for our plain curtain fabric is 280cm (110 inches). Some ranges come in 300cm (118 inches), which is useful for floor-to-ceiling windows in newer high-rise condos where ceiling heights run 2.8m to 3.2m. We also carry a handful of 137cm (54-inch) width fabrics, mostly in heavier cotton blends used for upholstery-grade curtain panels.
And here is something worth knowing: width affects your per-bidang cost significantly. A 300cm-wide fabric at RM12 per metre gives you more coverage per running metre than a 280cm at RM11. Your tukang jahit should be calculating this, but many do not. We are happy to help work out the most cost-effective option for your specific window dimensions.

Pick the base that fits the project. Same colour card applies across polyester, cotton blend, and linen look — so your client sees the shade, you choose the construction.
100% polyester — the default for volume
Eight out of ten plain curtain fabric orders from our warehouse are polyester. Developers specify it because it is machine washable, does not shrink after the first wash, and holds colour fastness at grade 4 to 5 on the grey scale even after 18 months of direct sun exposure behind glass. The weight range sits between 150gsm for lighter sheers and 240gsm for heavier dimout-grade plains. Price runs RM8 to RM12 per metre at wholesale.
If you are quoting a developer project — say, 400 units at a condo in Bangsar South — polyester plain is almost always the right call. Low maintenance, consistent quality, and the per-unit fabric cost stays under RM200 for a typical 3-bedroom setup with standard window sizes.
Cotton-polyester blend — for the soft-touch market
Residential customers who walk in to a curtain shop and feel the fabric with their hands before deciding? They go for cotton blend. The 65/35 poly-cotton weave has a warmer hand feel that pure polyester cannot replicate, and it drapes with slightly more weight. Runs about RM11 to RM14 per metre wholesale.
But here is the trade-off: it creases more easily and needs careful steaming after installation. For high-end residential jobs where the client is particular about finish, that extra effort pays off. For 200-unit developer handovers where nobody is inspecting drape quality? Stick with polyester.
Linen-look polyester — the compromise that works
Real linen curtain fabric is gorgeous. But it wrinkles if you look at it sideways, and it shrinks up to 5% after washing. Linen-look polyester gives you the slubby, textured appearance of natural linen with none of the maintenance headaches. Weight typically falls between 190gsm and 260gsm. Priced at RM10 to RM15 per metre.
Interior designers in KL love it for shophouse renovation projects in Bangsar and Damansara Heights. The natural-looking texture photographs well for their portfolio, the clients get that artisanal feel, and nobody has to deal with post-wash shrinkage complaints six months later.
Supply and stock realities
We keep ready stock of our top 83 colours year-round. These are the neutrals and earth tones that move consistently: ivory, off-white, cream, beige, grey, charcoal, navy, and a range of taupes and mushroom tones that Malaysian property developers favour. The remaining colours cycle in and out based on container arrivals.
Stock runs low before Hari Raya and Chinese New Year. Every year. If you have a project handover in Q1, place your plain fabric order by November at the latest. Container delays from China ports add another 3 to 4 weeks during peak season, and once our top sellers run out, the lead time jumps from 3 days to 6 weeks.
Six reasons curtain makers prefer plain.
Plain solid colour curtain fabric is not the exciting choice. It is the profitable one. Here is why it dominates wholesale orders.
Colour matching across batches
Same dye lot, same shade across every roll. Critical for developer projects with 200 to 1,200 identical units where even slight colour differences get flagged during VP inspection.
Works with any interior style
Plain fabric does not compete with wallpaper, furniture, or accent pieces. It recedes when it should and anchors the room when paired with textured sheer layers behind it.
Faster sewing production
No pattern matching, no directional prints to align. Your sewing floor moves faster when every bidang cuts the same way, which matters when you have 600 sets due in three weeks.
Lower waste, higher yield
Printed fabrics waste 8% to 12% on pattern repeats and directional alignment. Plain fabric cuts with minimal waste — you use nearly every centimetre of what you buy.
Easier client approval
Showing a developer five plain swatches gets sign-off in one meeting. Showing them 40 printed options opens up three more rounds of revisions, committee discussions, and scope changes that burn your margins.
Year-round availability
Printed designs come and go with seasonal collections. Top-selling plain colours stay in stock permanently. You can re-order the same ivory or charcoal eighteen months later and get a match.
From swatch to delivery.
We deal in wholesale curtain fabrics, so the process is built for trade buyers, not retail browsers.
Walk-in customers are welcome at our showroom on Jalan Klang Lama, Taman Desaria — we are at Lot 1509, Batu 8. But honestly, most of our plain fabric business starts on WhatsApp. A curtain maker sends us a photo of the colour direction, we check stock, quote a wholesale price, and arrange delivery. Simple.
For larger orders, we recommend visiting in person. Bring your client or your ID if it is a project tender. We have full sample books laid out by colour family, and you can feel the difference between the polyester, cotton blend, and linen-look bases side by side. That hands-on comparison matters — digital photos never capture fabric weight and drape accurately.
Cutting and minimum order
Wholesale pricing kicks in at MOQ 50 metres per colour. Below that, we sell at retail rate with a small cutting charge. Need 5 metres of sage green for a sample mock-up? No problem. Need 3 metres each of 12 different colours for a client presentation? Also fine — just be aware that each cut incurs a handling fee.
Full rolls are typically 40 to 50 metres. For bulk orders we sell by the roll, which saves on the cutting charge and ensures you receive uncut, continuous fabric.
Who buys plain fabric from us
Our trade customers fall into four groups. Curtain makers and tukang langsir who run sewing workshops and need reliable stock. Furnishing retailers with showrooms in areas like Jalan Ipoh, Kepong, and Shah Alam who display our sample books for their walk-in clients. Interior designers and ID firms who specify fabrics for residential and commercial projects. And developer curtain contractors who handle mass installations of 200 to 2,000 units per project.
Each group has different needs, but the common requirement is the same: consistent colour, competitive pricing, and reliable ready stock from a pembekal in PJ who picks up the phone when something goes wrong.
Plain fabric FAQ.
Common questions about our plain solid colour curtain fabric, ordering process, and wholesale terms.
How many plain curtain fabric colours do you carry in stock?
We carry roughly 287 shades across our plain fabric ranges at any given time. This includes polyester, cotton-poly blends, and linen-look bases. Some colours are seasonal or limited-run, so the exact count shifts depending on container arrivals from our mills. Contact us on WhatsApp for the latest sample books and available colour cards.
Do you guarantee dye-lot consistency for large plain fabric orders?
Yes. For project orders above 200 metres of a single colour, we batch from the same dye lot and confirm before cutting. If the colour cannot be fulfilled from one lot, we will inform you upfront so you can decide whether to split across rolls or wait for a fresh production run. Dye-lot matching is critical for developer projects with hundreds of identical units, and we take it seriously.
What is the minimum order for plain curtain fabric wholesale?
MOQ is 50 metres per colour for wholesale pricing. Smaller quantities are available at retail rates for walk-in customers. If you need multiple colours for a sample set or mock-up, we can arrange 3 to 5 metre cutting lengths at a small cutting charge per piece.
Can I get swatches of plain fabric before committing to a bulk order?
Absolutely. We provide physical swatch cards and sample books for trade customers. You can visit our showroom at Jalan Klang Lama in Petaling Jaya, or request swatches by WhatsApp and we will courier them to you. For project tenders, we can also prepare A4-size sample pieces with the fabric name and lot number labelled for your client presentation.
What fabric bases are available in plain solid colours?
Our plain solid colour range covers three main bases: 100% polyester (most popular for commercial and residential, easy care, wrinkle-resistant), cotton-polyester blend (softer hand feel, slightly heavier drape), and linen-look polyester (natural texture appearance with synthetic durability). Each base comes in different weights from roughly 150gsm up to 280gsm.
Do you supply plain curtain fabric for developer and hotel projects?
Yes, developer and hotel fit-outs make up a large portion of our plain fabric business. We have supplied plain curtain fabric for condo projects in Mont Kiara, serviced apartments in Bangsar South, and hotel refurbishments across KL. For projects above 500 units, we can arrange direct mill production with your exact colour specification and fire-retardant treatment if required.
