Why printed fabric

Advantages of printed curtain fabric.

Printed drapery fabric adds pattern and personality that plain-dyed fabric simply cannot match. Here is what makes it work for the trade.

01

Design variety

Florals, geometrics, tropicals, abstracts, and custom artwork. Printed fabric gives your clients choice that no plain-dyed range can offer. We stock over 143 active printed designs at any given time.

02

Cost-effective patterns

Printing creates complex multi-colour designs at a fraction of the cost of jacquard weaving or embroidery. A 6-colour floral print costs far less per metre than a woven equivalent with the same visual impact.

03

Custom print capability

Send us your artwork file and we can produce custom printed curtain fabric for branded hospitality projects, themed interiors, or exclusive retail collections. Digital print MOQ from 50 metres.

04

Multiple base cloths

Same print design available on different base cloths. Choose from sheer voile at 140gsm, mid-weight poly-cotton at 180gsm, or heavier linen-blend at 210gsm depending on your curtain application.

05

Wide width rolls

Printed curtain fabric supplied in 280cm and 300cm widths for seamless floor-to-ceiling drops. No ugly horizontal seam lines across your pattern, even on 3-metre ceiling heights.

06

Tested colourfastness

Our printed fabric range comes with documented lightfastness ratings. Every sample book swatch shows the ISO 105-B02 grade so you can specify confidently for sun-facing installations.

Questions

Printed fabric FAQ.

Common questions about printed curtain fabric, wholesale supply, and ordering from Artwork Fabrics.

What is the difference between digital print and screen print curtain fabric?

Digital print curtain fabric uses inkjet technology to spray pigment directly onto the base cloth, allowing for photographic detail, unlimited colour range, and smaller production runs. Screen print curtain fabric uses physical screens with separate colour passes, which gives stronger ink penetration and better wash durability but limits the number of colours per design (typically 6 to 12). Digital suits custom and small-run orders while screen print is more cost-effective for large wholesale volumes.

How do I check colourfastness on printed curtain fabric?

Colourfastness on printed curtain fabric is graded on a scale of 1 to 8 under ISO 105-B02 testing, where 1 is very poor and 8 is outstanding. For curtains facing direct sunlight, you want a rating of at least 5 for acceptable fade resistance. Ask your supplier for the specific lightfastness grade of each design. At Artwork Fabrics, we can provide test data for our stocked printed fabric ranges on request.

What is the minimum order for printed curtain fabric wholesale?

For ready stock printed curtain fabric, our minimum order is typically 50 metres per design. Custom print runs with your own artwork start at higher minimums depending on the printing method: roughly 300 metres for screen print and 50 metres for digital print. Contact us on WhatsApp to confirm current MOQ for the specific designs you need.

Do you supply printed curtain fabric for hotel and condo projects?

Yes. Artwork Fabrics supplies printed curtain fabric for hospitality and residential development projects across Malaysia. We have supplied printed drapery fabric for condominiums in Mont Kiara, hotels in KLCC, and serviced apartments in Bangsar. For project orders, we can hold stock, arrange phased delivery, and provide sample yardage for mockup rooms.

Can printed curtain fabric be used on sun-facing windows?

Yes, but you must select printed fabric with adequate lightfastness ratings. Screen-printed fabrics with reactive dyes generally hold up better than pigment prints in direct sun. We recommend a minimum lightfastness grade of 5 for west-facing windows in Malaysian conditions. Pairing printed curtain fabric with a separate lining or using a print-on-blackout base cloth also helps protect the colour from UV degradation.

What printed curtain fabric designs are trending in Malaysia right now?

Currently the strongest demand is for tropical botanical prints with monstera and palm leaf motifs, oversized abstract florals in muted tones, and geometric patterns in earthy neutrals. Smaller-scale ditsy florals remain popular for bedroom curtains. The trend is shifting away from heavy traditional damask prints toward looser, more contemporary artwork-style designs.
